You were born to be a creator.
You were made to have an idea in your head and bring it into reality.
From the toddler creating wobbly block towers, to the preschooler building a massive lego fortress. From the school age child learning their first instrument and creating a melody to the teenager gracefully making strokes with their paintbrush across a white canvas. There is a deep desire in us all to create. There is joy and excitement like no other that comes with it!
Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
Genesis 1:26-17
You are creative because you were made in the image of a creative God. Being a creator is who you are, at your very core.
It looks different for everyone. For some it’s creating a career that leaves a lasting impact, for others it’s creating a family and a legacy. But there’s so much to create in the day to day: a beautifully framed photography, a handwritten note to encourage a friend, a homemade meal to nourish the body.
Never forget that you were born to create. Embrace it!
What are some of your favorite things to be creating? Or, if you aren’t creating… what is stopping you?
