Life Coaching
I often get questions asking what the difference is between counseling or therapy and life coaching. The best way I have found to describe it is that counseling or therapy is like archeology, it looks to the past to understand the why. Why we feel the way we do, why we act the way we act, or why we respond the way we do. From understanding the past, we may be better able to understand ourselves and the choices we make as we go forward. Counselors and therapists are often able to offer strategies and solutions.
Coaching is like being an architect. It is about deciding on the life that you want, and then being intentional to create it. Your thoughts are creating your reality. Working with a life coach gives you the skills and tools to get very good at being aware of your thoughts and learning how to manage your mind. With these skills, you are able to transform your life.
As a life coach, I recognize that my clients have the answers and solutions inside of them to the challenges that they face. Through coaching, I help them find those solutions and begin to walk them out.
